Can you really sit on it?
Yes. The Simple in both heights is most commonly used as a regular seat.

Does this ship assembled?
No, the Simple arrives flat pack style, with each of the three pieces stacked safely in a box.
This is also how you can store it when you pack it up for a road trip, or when you need to leave it in a storage unit while you travel the world.
It takes less than a minute to assemble the slip-fit pieces. No screws needed.
How heavy is it? How much weight can it hold?
Each Simple is roughly 9 pounds (4 kg).
But, it can hold a heck of a lot more than 9 pounds. We regularly use the Simple stool around our workshop and studio office - often for sitting, but also to regularly hold a few hundred pounds of lumber.
This product is great for sitting, displaying, and being a general table surface.
It is not intended to be a step stool. We do not recommend using it for tipping-prone activities.

Can I use this for seating?
Yes! The Simple Stool was originally designed to be sat on. It is made from sturdy and durable Baltic Birch plywood, which is often used in case good furniture and construction applications too.
We regularly use the Simple stool around our workshop and studio office - often for sitting, but also to regularly hold a few hundred pounds of lumber.
Can I use this as a table?
Yes! For table uses - It is best to use coasters for cold drinks.
Do not let water sit on the surface of your painted stools. Wipe up spills immediately.
While the hardwax oil finish is resistant to liquid spills, as a healthy, home-friendly finish, it is not impervious. Spot touch-ups can be done with Osmo hardwax oil or similar products.
Can I use it outside?
The Simple is currently rated for interior use only. We finish the product in a nontoxic hardwax oil that is zero VOC and thus better for our homes' and business' indoor air quality! This finish is easy to maintain for years to come.

Is this made in the USA?
Yes. We are a wood-focused manufacturer! We make our products from a combination of raw materials and sourced components (ex. metal hardware) directly in our manufacturing workshop, located in Watsonville, California.
For collaboration products, we always identify if we work with other independent craftspeople, manufacturing studios, and fellow product designers.
Do you ship across the USA?
Yes. We ship orders nationwide, including Hawaii (where we were founded!).
Some products ship fully assembled. Some products ship flat for assembly once received.
