Our design intent was to create a stage upon which our customers could explore their playful aesthetics. Hardwood furniture can often feel rigid and limiting in design ethos. While sometimes that serious approach is necessary, we wanted this product to leverage color and offer space for personal expression.With that intention in mind, it was clear that an upholstered piece would provide the greatest flexibility. Fabrics offer versatility to play with color, weave, pattern, and weight.

The base is made of three individual pieces that quickly and easily fit together. The entire bench ships disassembled and take just a few minutes to get setup with the use of our metal connectors. Like the base, the cushions are made to order and sit neatly in a recessed groove that we have machined into the bench seat. This keeps the overall look slim and low profile, while also ensuring the cushions stay tight and secure. Though we like to think our fabric options capture the hearts of most spaces, the cushions are a great opportunity to customize fabric choices and create a home furniture accent that is uniquely your own.
Our Deep Black finish is a polished and contemporary wood treatment, allowing the wood grain to shine through and stand out on many different floors from hardwood to tile. The two-stage finishing process takes a great deal of time and skill to get just right. The finish is easy to keep clean in high-touch environments and commercial spaces, but also has a warmth and natural touch that sets it apart from traditional thick film finishes. Like all JOHI products, our finishes are derived from natural plant oils. That’s good news for both our planet and our clients.
