Team Favorites of the Year

Nicole –

If I have to pick just one, I’ll say the Whispering Bench(es) was my favorite project of the year.

The incorporation of the upholstery was a real stand out for me. I’m always aspiring to utilize a variety of materials. This project provided the opportunity to work with fellow craft experts who all around nailed the execution, shout out Aby’s Upholstery.

It was a joy to build and the results were stunning. I think it’s a super versatile piece that would elevate any room. Can’t wait to build more.

Dining tables often steal the show for me. This year, we made a stunning 8-10 seater ‘Ohana Dining Table. This was the first time we’ve delivered it in White Oak. It was gorgeous, stately, super solid.

More than that, I just love how it filled a perfect space in its forever home. We delivered it with the whole family around and were lucky enough to share a breakfast full of stories and laughs. It will hold so many fond memories!

It can be hard to choose a favorite when all of our work is so badass. My favorite though... the X Coffee Table.
This design hit the sweet spots between functionality and design. Simple shapes in a complex form keep you engaged with the table in a way that four legs and a top alone can’t.

I also like it for the potential. A glass top would be a great next iteration and one we are definitely looking forward to in 2024.

Elijah –

My favorite moment of the year would have to be joining the JOHI team. I forgot how much I enjoyed being in a collaborative work environment.

As far as a favorite product, it would have to be the Kamehana Desk. It’s a very simple and beautiful design. The fact that it ships flat pack has allowed us to ship it all across the USA this year which is a nice feeling.
